Lucidness
The Zen Teachings of Bodhidharma proposes that “Not creating delusions is enlightenment.” That got me thinking about the multitude of ways we create delusions.
- Leaping from weak evidence to strong conclusions
- Collapsing spectrums into dichotomies
- Projecting our interpretations, beliefs and assumptions
- Transforming dynamic processes into static things
- Over-generalizing and over-simplifying
- Trying to create permanence where there can be none
- Using language that converts subjective evaluations into “objective facts”
